Well, have your Mum cook and pack the food for you right? What happens when you have homesick university mates who feel the same way?
It's a business opportunity then!
Ridzwan Hafids Rosli is still a student studying Marketing but at such a young age, he has his own company called Mama G Food Industries, which made its appearance at Halfest, PWTC.
It's a simple business idea: sambal in a bottle but it's already a hit especially among university students who may want a piece of 'home' with them.
Mama G operates fully from Malacca. Rozida's sister (Ridzwan's mum) prepares and cooks the sambal along with 10 helpers. They are able to produce up to 10,000 bottles a month. Orders can be placed via phone or their website and Facebook.
"We are not able to sell these in the supermarket just yet because we are in the process of applying the Halal logo from Jakim," she said.
There are also plans to sell their products overseas to target Malaysian students studying in London and Paris. How about that? Good news, right?
For more new Halal products, don't foget to visit Halfest from now until October 14th. Who knows you might even meet the 'mama' in Mama G!
