In response to demands by activists for a proper sex education to be included in schools to protect children from rape, Indonesia's Education and Culture Minister Mohammad Nuh said the following:
"According to our traditions, it is indecent to talk about it, and that is my standpoint. I don't believe we need that yet," he was quoted by The Jakarta Post.
