Happy Birthday to ME! Happy Birthday to ME! Happy Birthday to MEEEEE..... Happy Birthday to ME!!
Ok, this post is going to be very self-centered so please leave if you can't stand ME! (Just kidding... do stay and read on!)
Today is a special day, at least for me. A day for me to be just a little selfish, to feel extra special and to embrace the love from my friends and family members.
As a kid, this means a lot of presents but as I get older, I tend to embrace the messages and wishes I receive. And since we are in the Digital Age, this means, 140-character tweets, Facebook wall messages, BBM, WhatsApp and yes, even SMS (guys, you need to use a smartphone now!)
I've turned a year older. 26 to be exact. Though I know I am still the same person as compared to last month, last week, or yesterday but every birthday is like a milestone. And with each milestone, we just have to gather the life lessons we've acquired this past year and to take everything to where ever the future holds.
Some of the lessons that I've learned and would like to share with you...
People come and ago. I've learned to let some people go and I've learned to welcome new people in my life. I need to channel and shift energy to those who give me the same positive energy back. There's no use making the effort if the other party does not make the same effort too.
Change is good. A few months ago, I left my position as Presenter and Producer of a morning show to a new channel and a different job scope. I am loving this new challenge. Every opportunity is a chance to acquire new knowledge.
Life is full of surprise. I remember wanting full control of everything and if it does not meet my expectations, I get upset. Now whenever I am in that situation, I just tell myself to "Let go...." and let everything just... BE, without major expectations and knowing that God is there no matter what.
Don't give up. This was a major lesson. Guess what? There was a point when I wanted to give up on this blog because I was lacking in motivation to update it... until I realize... writing has been a passion of mine and I always tell people I love to write and share and why give up? This blog is still new and there are many more things I can do with motivationMY.
With that said... I want to express my deepest gratitude to my online friends who wished me. There are days when I ask myself, "Do people even care about me?" but today I can say, "I am FEELING the LOVE!"
Thank you! Thank you! Thank YOU!
connect. socialize. share.
